It seems that selling old video games on auction sites like eBay or uBid is the fastest way to make money in this shaky and unstable economy. When eBay user lace_thongs recently sold an old Nintendo system along with rare game Stadium Events only a few weeks ago and grossed $13,000, many money-hungry sellers followed suit - hoping to profit from their old vintage games or systems.
On February 26, an eBay auction listing the Nintendo game Stadium Events ended. The seller, vals2girlz, listed the auction on February 21. The auction included a brand new and sealed edition of the 1987 game, which is one of the top 20 rarest and most hard to find games in the world.
After a bidding war that ended with a whopping 115 bids, the game sold for an impressive $41,300. Stadium Events, which was sold for the price of $29.99 23 years ago, was purchased for nearly 1377 times its worth.
